hello everyone :) Hebron University Museum In this report I will talk about Hebron University Museum. I chose this place because I noticed the word museum on the signboard when I was walking besides the building, and for the first time, I knew that there is a museum there and I noticed that there are many people who dont know about its existence. This report will contain the location of the museum, the history of the building, an over view of the museum, and some recommendations. First, the museum is located in Al-Hammori building in the front of Ibn rushed school in king Abdullah Street in Hebron. Second, in my visit to the museum the museum guard talks about the history of the building and an overview of the museum. He said that this building area is more than 1000 m2, and it was a military base for the leader Khair Al-den and his men at the time of caliph al-ottomani sultan Abdul Hamid II, but when the British came to Palestine the leader Khair Al-den gave this building to men from Alkhoury family, but now the building is for someone from Albaide family and the university tenanted the building from him. Hebron university museum was established in 2010, and it was established for several reasons. The First reason is for educational objectives. For example, the teachers hold lectures and seminars about Palestinian antiquities in the showroom. Second, the museum highlights aspects of Palestinian ancient history, by displaying pieces and coins related to prehistoric times, Bronze, Iron, Greek, Roman and Byzantium agers and Islamic period in vitrines that located in the main room, and the other rooms display stone inscriptions from various consecutive historical periods. Third, the museum disseminates knowledge and enhances national commitment. For example, the museum publishes informative bulletins and brochures describing archeological sites. The museum has a burden in collecting the pieces, so most of the pieces are collected by the students by organizing educational trips to historical and archeological destination. In my opinion this is a great idea since its encourage the students to study in addition to be perseverance because they know that there works will be presented in a wonderful form, also everyone have pieces or anything related to our antiquities must put it in the museum, as well as we must make restoration for the old buildings, and not to destroy them because this proves that we are the owners of this land.
