hi, quick spoonboy announcement: i decided a few months ago that “spoonboy” as a musical identity made the most sense describing a group of songs i wrote between 2004 and 2014, so after my UK tour next month (which i’m really excited about!) and a few shows i’m planning to book in the spring i’m not going to keep playing the songs actively. i’m still writing a ton of music and am almost finished with new records from the max levine ensemble and somnia, and i’ve got plans to start a couple new projects, so new songs will be in no short supply. i do have another spoonboy music video in the works and a few spoonboy songs i’ve been meaning to record for a while so i’ll hopefully still do that. i’ll still answer to spoonboy, spoon, spoony, spoobnob, etc., and i’ll still keep my blog. it’s so easy to play songs by yourself that it seems unrealistic that i won’t play the songs again sometime, but i’m putting a cap on it as an active project. most immediately, i’m playing a show in dc next week at the communiverse, and as always it’d be cool to see people. thanks so much for all the support. much much love.
