his was from the Oklahoma governor Liason : Thank you for contacting the office of Governor Mary Fallin and sharing your concerns about baby Veronica Brown. I have shared your correspondence with the governor and she has asked me to respond. The Oklahoma Constitutional provisions require separate branches of government. The judicial branch remains a separate branch of government from the executive branch of government. Therefore, the separation of government powers prevents the governor from overruling or interfering with the decisions of the judicial branch of government. The governor has no jurisdiction over matters that relate to the judiciary, court cases, decisions made by the court, and/or a ruling made by a judge. The Oklahoma Constitution states in Article 4, Section 1 that; “the three branches of government shall be separate and distinct, and neither shall exercise the powers properly belonging to either of the others”. We hope this information has been beneficial. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your point of view with Governor Fallin. Sincerely, Jean Roupe Public Affairs Liaison
