While the Dramatists Source Book and various websites can help direct up-and-coming playwrights towards opportunities, there are still vast amounts of opportunities that go unnoticed. So, here it is, an attempt to reach across the whole of the international Facebook community to unite all of us playwrights so that we can improve our chances to become vastly wealthy, buy giant mansions, bathe in water imported from the glaciers of Norway, and laugh pithily while discussing the works of Eugene ONeill, Henrik Ibsen, and Eurypedes. Well probably be drinking brandy and wearing monocles too. Top hats in the bath tub are optional, but highly recommended. What I propose is that we all use this group as a way to inform other playwrights of the many opportunities available, from 10 minute play fests, to open submissions of full lengths, to student theatre groups in need of works. Perhaps we could even offer critiques on each others works and, in time, figure out some way to hold workshops whilst online. The skys the limit. Or, as my pothead punk friend in high school once said, Why shoot for the stars, when the moon is so much closer. That way, when you actually get to the stars, youre like Holy shit! Stars! Also, please feel free to post a little something about yourself on the wall.
