https://youtube/watch?v=1RlsqgCYSkY Meet my friend Jim Doyle, W3CKU, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (originally of Minnesota). Jim and I had a brief radiotelegraph contact this morning. He is 89 years old and still an excellent radiotelegraph operator. In the 47 years Ive been a radio op, Ive contacted hundreds of these guys....including former WWII Japanese, German & Italian radio operators. (one of the Germans was the Radio operator on the Graf Zeppelin in the 1930s). In the 1960s, I was talking with 80 year old guys who were World War I operators and the pioneers of wireless technology. I didnt hear Jims voice this morning, but he forwarded a link to this video and I got to see a bit about what kind of guy he is. Sounds All-American to me!
