https://youtube/watch?v=BvCdGhj7zCI So most people starting the New Year try to stick to a new plan to get into shape, for me it will be to increase my exercise and build muscle. I am what you call, skinny fat. For those who wish to lose weight here is a short quick video on how your body works in reference to the hormones. Hormones run our body and control our weight gain and loss. In order to lose weight you must understand what your hormones do and how they work. Tips: 1.Insulin hormone must be kept low, if you must spike by eating a carb do it first thing in the AM and then no more the rest of the day UNLESS you exercise to burn off. Always keep portion of carbs very small, our bodies do not need a lot of food. 2. Eat two or three solid meals and nothing after 7:00pm-Contrary to the old belief that you must eat little meals all day, actually is not as effective as training your body to eat 2-to-3 meals. That is the way God intended us to eat, crazing will keep your insulin level up all day thus not losing weight. Every time you put something in your mouth you release insulin. Your goal is to keep the insulin level low. Train your body to not snack, it will take some time. Especially at night it is the worst thing to do. 3. Fiber, good fats and protein sustain your hunger. 4. Good sleep- get to bed early no later than 11:00pm and sleep in a very dark room, so your body can make melatonin and keep the cortisol hormone where it needs to be. No phones, computer lights or night lights these disrupt your hormones at night. Thus could sabotage weight loss. Sleeping helps lower the stress hormone Cortisol. 5.Lots of fruits and veggies, learn to cook low glycemic meals. 6.Exercise every other day for 30 minutes 7. Be sure you take vitamin D3 at least 3000 units a day this will help with weight loss as well and it will also be a good idea to take a good multi vitamin to be sure you are getting the proper nutrients. ALIVE is a pretty good one. 8. Nothing tastes as good as it will feel when you have met your personal goal. 9. Intermitting fasting is another great tool to lose weight missing breakfast every other day or skipping dinner every other day. God designed our bodies to not lose weight. Our fat is designed to be used when there was no food available thus fasting is extremely helpful. Not necessary but helpful especially if you hit a plateau. 10. Eat superfoods, Chia seeds, flax seeds, green shakes, avocados, etc. STAY AWAY FROM HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.This causes weight gain. Be careful it is in everything. Stay away from Chemicals, MSG, BPA, and additives such as Maltitol or Maltodextrose, diet sodas or any diet food they have additives that raise insulin. Go figure.. 11. Stick to God foods meats, fish, chicken, pork, fruits (low sugar fruit),whole eggs, butter, veggies, small amount of nuts, seeds, beans, no processed foods, processed foods have all kinds of additives and extra sodium and are void of nutrients. Your body is craving nutrients, not sugar. Stay away from any fruits or veggies that raise Insulin. Look it up and keep a list. Potatoes, corn, pineapples, are just a few, anything too sweet. 12. If you get depressed while dieting there are some tricks to help, one is to eat some beans 1/2 cup, or make Sunday your fun day and eat one thing you crave for 300 extra calories. I eat a piece of dark chocolate everyday just one square. Find something that you really enjoy to keep you on track. I enjoy a sliced baked apple, with cinnamon, stevia and a dash of apple pie spice bake and a bit of butter for 15-20 minutes and top with whip cream (not cool whip). Real whip cream and not Ready Whip. I buy Trader Joes or Whole Foods brand with out any additives. 13.Take a probiotic, many hormones are made in the gut, sugar destroys gut bacteria, taking a good quality probiotic will aid in weight loss as well. I take everyday Ultimate Flora. This will also help with digestion and nutrient absorption. 14 Drink lots of water, filtered and not from a plastic bottle which is loaded with BPA and can add to your estrogen load. Fat cells make estrogen and not the good kind. Fat cells also hold toxins. Being overweight increasing the odds of getting cancer due to the excess estrogen and toxins in the body. Exercise can help reduce both of these through sweat and your diet. Eating lots of greens or taking a green supplement can help as well in getting rid of these toxins. I take AMAZING Grass everyday. Doing a week of detoxing could help as well. Whole Foods or vitamin shoppe sells many detoxing products. Look up Estrogen Dominance, many women have too much estrogen which is not good, staying lean helps with hormone balance. 15. Chromium supplement is good to help curb cravings, one time a day 250mcg and along with with Psyllium fiber as well with a meal.
