Nestle, the largest food producer in the world, financing 7300 suppliers of meat, dairy, and eggs, 7300 animal-killing ventures, has somehow now coerced high praise in global media from the boy who cried welfare himself, Nathan Runkle, the opportunist serial betrayer of animals, now salivating over a potential donations windfall. His organizations random animal-ag undercover video got some poor, pathetic, desperate, psychologically - damaged, sub minimum-wage workers convicted of kicking and dragging animals, and whatever else they were doing that day which was and is business-as-usual every day at every such animal - processing prison. Of course the terrified victims have to be forced, prodded, smacked, kicked to do everything they dont want to do - including marching to their beheading. Were there accusations of these guys cutting the animals too? But wont EVERY MFA praised-be-Nestle animal now and forever be brutally cut into shreds? It was just these workers bad luck that an MFAer got hired where they were employed, a Wisconsin dairy supplier to DiGiorno pizza, a Nestle product. The fired convicts bad luck, though, is Nathan Runkles winning Powerball ticket. He can take credit for what Nestle has now done worldwide, which is - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Cue Crosby, Stills, & Nash - we have all been here before, we have all been here before...And to quote the wisdom of George W. Bush - which I never imagined Id do - Fool me once, shame on, shame on you, uh, fool me, uh - cant get fooled again. We are seeing an alarming pattern here, where one can only conclude that Mercy For Animals exists largely for the purpose of rehabilitating the public image of those who must routinely engage in that which is appalling and inexcusable. For the bad guy to get a good guy makeover, and a white cowboy hat, an experienced animal-betrayal specialist is required. MFA has lent such services in the past to chicken -massacring United Egg Producers and their good-guy battery cages, and pig-massacring Tysons, with its promise for more good-guy animal research on piglets. So, the pattern is - release undercover video of a low - level employee kicking an animal. The Hot Pockets -eating public becomes enraged. The company fires the workers and promises better training and treatment in the future. Animal rights group claims victory, praises animal abusers and killers, rakes in donations, moves on to next corporate opportunity. Public breathes sigh of relief, buys more sausage, egg, and cheese Hot Pockets. These vacuous victories are nothing more than todays promises of future unfulfillmentl; but fulfilled or not - the animals lose. When fulfillment of the goals of animal advocacy is cage-free deception and egregious battery-cage confinement, as with Nestle-MFA, it is time for different animal advocacy that is not dictated by butchers. We are playing the animal abusers game. They own the animals. They own the politicians. They will do what suits them. Oh how HSUS praised Smithfield for promising to end gestation crates. Years later, Smithfield decides it doesnt want to do it, its too expensive. At least it got bacon the good will of animal advocates for awhile, and HSUS had another lucrative victory. Victories can always be claimed - for no one is really bound by loopholes. Progress can always be proclaimed - a tactic of military propagandists that MFA has learned well. Progress has no definite end results, and it cannot be measured, but it sure sounds like weere doing something. Now, because Mercy For Animals says so - we trust 7300 Nestle animal-product suppliers and all of THEIR suppliers to adhere to the humane code of kind rape, caring torture, and compassionate stabbing, making them the objects of our admiration. This merciful blessing from Mercy For Animals may be all Nestle needs to help achieve marketing goals, now endorsed with the animal rights stamp of approval in splattered blood. MFA blesses 7300 cut -throat processors of the ingredient of death packed generously into a corporation that owns 36 ice cream brands and 12 yogurt brands, and is stuffing and pouring the cadavers and secretions of countless animal victims into everything from Hot Pockets, Stouffers, Lean Cuisine, DiGiorno, Jacks, and Tombstone (aptly named) pizzas, to Alpo and Friskies, and so much more. Animals who see no mercy in life are blessed by Mercy For Animals in their product afterlife, canned or frozen. Press releases say that what Nestle is doing could affect operations in 90 countries. (In how many languages can the cage-free lie be told?) This all comports with the global meat industrys plan to increase animal product consumption by 70% by 2050 (a program in which HSUS is heavily involved), with industry knowing that to reach such lofty goals, consumers must be duped into beliefs about high animal welfare, and animal care, and sustainability - and who better to dupe them than the super - duper dupers? The same deceptive marketing that accompanied amendment proposals to the Egg Products Inspection Act is written all over Nestles promises in the code words that barren battery cages will be banned, as it states on the website of Nestles London animal welfare partner, World Animal Protection. The key word again is barren. Battery cages will not be banned - just the barren-ness of them, rectified by shoving a stick into the cage and calling it a perch and throwing some sand into the cage and calling it a bath. But really, its the donors to MFA who have their contributions now going to establish previously -unacceptable furnished enriched battery cages as a new global humane standard, who are really getting taken for a bath. Who are the animal advocates? Who are the animal killers? Who can tell with everyone splashing around in a bloodbath?
