https://youtube/watch?v=M_-__gMv0lY. This is another unfunny scene from Fathers Day. Its at this point where Robin Williams trademark of doing multiple voices and impersonations gets really stale. I feel like both Williams and the movie are trying too hard to be funny. It feels too much like filler with the actor stopping the story and going into standup. Williams multiple voices have worked better in other movies such as Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, Fern Gully, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, and The Birdcage. But in those, it fits into his characters personalities and there is always an appropriate context to the scenes where he speaks in different voices. Here, its very forced and doesnt fit in with a guy who earlier tried to commit suicide. Also, it doesnt feel like the material is coming through Williams and his improvisational techniques. It looks like hes just doing what the script is telling him to do.
