https://youtube/watch?v=PgPNANqGU94 Sharing an interview, in which my opinion was sought on number of issues related to the policies of central government and the future politics of Haryana. The salient pont of the interview are as follows. 1. As far as the role of the planning commission is concerned, it needs to be made more streamlined and unwieldy. The states should not take this institution as a hindrance. 2. The issue of the foreign funding of NGOs needs to be re-looked at. We must ensure that there shouldn’t be even an iota of intent to subvert the democracy and territorial integrity of India behind this kind of funding. 3. The Rangarajan committee recommendations is still being considered by the government. The full report can be accessed @ planningcommission.nic.in/reports/genrep/pov_rep0707.pdf 4. As of now, the UID (Unique Identification Numbe) would continue to remain under the Planning commission while the NPR (National Population Register ) would remain under the purview of Ministry of Home Affairs. Merger of these two records is not going to be an immediate exercise. 5. As an effort to boost the morale of the defense personnel and retired veteran, we have brought in One rank and one pension scheme. We intend to do more. 6. We are committed to provide State of the art defense technology to our armed personnel. The 49% FDI policy is a step forward in that direction. 7. Going by the outcome in the recent parliamentary polls, the logic of equal seat sharing between BJP & HJC in Haryana would not be very sound. Neither it would be reassuring for the people who have put their faith in the BJP. The party has emerged stronger and it should use this opportunity to unseat the Hooda government at its own strength. 8. South Haryana has contributed a lot in the politics and economy of the state and this region must get its due. I will work together with the state unit of the party to ensure that the BJP makes a clean sweep the next assembly elections which is scheduled in October.
