All Kinds of Troubles Disappear In The Morning Light is an original Blues song written and performed in 1988 by my brother Murray McCullough and his band. Murray passed away 21 years ago, Sept. 14, 1993. To honor this anniversary along with my sister Barb McCullough and Murray’s children, Lucas & Sarah, I have uploaded this treasured footage of Murray’s trademark song portraying his perpetual positive philosophy which, simply stated, was akin to “Don’t Worry – Be Happy”, a long-time McCullough family motto. Every aspect of this video was produced by Mur at a time when music videos were just emerging. Recorded at Gerry Zelenys Cumberland St. Studio in home-town, Thunder Bay, Ontario, it features Murray on mouth harp & vocals, best friend Ari Lahdekorpi, guitar; Paul Hessey, drums; Danny Johnson, piano; Cameron Fields, bass; & back-up vocalists Cheryl Grant & friend. Sarah and Lucas McCullough, (much younger (at the time), make delightful cameo appearances. Murray was a prominent blues musician, revered in the Thunder Bay music scene. Beloved by all for his humour, enlightened personality and multi-talents, (also master of piano and sax), he lead his own band, The Blue Shadows until his death -- a band famous for knocking audiences out with their contagious, killer performances. He played blues, R&B and jazz throughout the 60s-90s: notably with, Roy Corans Orchestra, Rodney Brown, Ken Hamm’s Bay Street Blues Band, David Letterman’s Musical Director Paul Shaffer, even backing up The Temptations during their Thunder Bay concert. Murray had hemophilia and was one of thousands of victims of the Red Cross Blood Scandal. He was only 39 when he passed away and there isn’t a day that goes by that his family doesn’t think of him with tenderness and love.
