If you couldnt hear what she was saying, basically, she said that people in North Korea is stripped away from human rights because of the regime. -They are not allowed to read/watch shows that are related to romance, or things that are not authorized by the North Korea government. -There is only one channel in the tv (surprise, surprise). -People are publicly executed should they act against the regime. Yeonmi witnessed her mom being raped, because her mom was trying to protect her. Asylum seekers from North Korea tries to flee North Korea to Mongolia, but at the same time, are scared that they might get sent back to the hell that they came from. The examples that she raised is probably just the tip of the iceberg. She suggested that if we wanna help, we would first need to educate ourselves with the situation that North Korea refugees are facing, accept refugees that have fled. Lastly, put more pressure on China to speak up, since North Korea relies/has a close relationship with China. (But honestly, Chinas is in no position to comment on other nations human rights. I mean, look at them, theyre only a tiny step ahead of North Korea) Still a shocking video that is worth watching.
