i am not sure what to make of it. The new owner is certainly very driven and has been making lots of changes. I know where I stand on the senior passes. In my understanding, ski resorts have a long-standing tradition of honoring older skiers by providing very low cost or free skiing. It bugs me that eldora is not providing free or cheap skiing to the 65+ and 70+ group. They inspire me and add inspiraton to a ski day. Also, I wish someone would dig down into the epic pass situation so we know what the real reason for the separation is. frankly, for committed eldora skiers, i feel this is a welcome change. In my experience the epic pass skier is a different type of skier than the eldora skier. Eldora passholders were not that excited to see such huge crowds on great snow days. in my experience, the epic pass holders tend to be a bit more driven than the more mellow eldora passholders. lifts typically open at eldora at 8:45. on snowy days, epic passholders are loud grumblers for the lifts being opened even earlier. who wants to stand in a line awaiting great snow, having to listen to people complain?
