i close my eyes and i see colors, scenes, shadows. I see a silhouette of a tall man against a wide hallway, with black at the edges. he holds a knife. i feel as though i should be afraid, but i fear nothing. i know this man is special. an embodiment of my own fate. he is in charge of everything in my life. every single thing. but this man is not me. he takes a single step towards me. i open my eyes. i say no. because refusal is all i can control.
