I decided to make this post after reading through peoples reactions at a post made by Ugezu J Ugezu. I found out that many people in Anambra are not truly aware of how the modern-time Anambra Election is conducted. Most time you find out that people who carries rumors of rigging election are people who never even registered for voting let alone having a voters card not to talk about casting their vote, yet they are the people that generate this rumor. Here I must speak as an Electoral observer and one who has once been involved in the Anambra state free and fair election initiative.I want to remand everybody who is taking about rigging of election that such a thing is no longer possible in Anambra state when every vote in the ballot box is counted at each polling station before every returning officer, Party agent, Electoral Monitors, observers and the police before leaving the poll, with every agent, observer, police etc taking the full result of his polling unit back to the people he is representing.The idea is this: if my Agent at poll #1 returns with a result that shows that my party got 10 votes and my opponent got 5 votes at poll#1 and my agent at poll #2 return with a result that shows that my party got 20 votes and my opponent got 25 votes at poll#2, result from poll#3 shows 5 votes for my party and my opponent 10 votes etc.. before the INEC announces the result my party has known how many votes we have and how many votes my opponent have got. If the INECs result does not correspond with the result i had at hand then there is a room to protest but once it corresponds with the result i have already then the result is accurate.
