( i found this on craigslist, WHAT DO YOU THINK? )..This is not an attack on any Churches but the corrupt system involved. You have seen these type of ads. "Seeking Christian musicians for praise and worship Church band. Volunteer only of course. You must audition." So you drive to audition for a "volunteer only" drummer, bassist, guitarist, pianist, keyboardist, violin, vocalist, singer, gig. You may not make the audition for the "non pay" gig. Once you "make the audition". You would have to drive to rehearsals once or twice a week, where you are now "part of the family." After a while, they start telling you that you would have to give "10 percent of your income" or make you feel guilty about it. Years later, you become dissolutioned for responding to a "volunteer ad" realizing that it was a way to get more members to a church (and increase church income in the process). No wonder why too many people are leaving the church broken and hurt. This "pay to play" business is not helping the gospel. At least, pay your musicians and workers some gas money or buy them health insurance.
