i have an easter season question for you. now you have to be of a certain age to be able to respond to this inquiry. as a small child growing up in the 50s, i have a recollection of the world coming to a stop of good friday between the hours of 12 noon & 3. merchants would go so far as to close their shops in observance of this holy time. i guess this all disappeared in the early to mid 60s and nowadays there is no observance of this time at all. my question is... did this really occur or is my early onset of dementia treating me to a special treat? if this occurred...was the observance country-wide? and if it occurred...when did it stop?
