i just posted this to brian cox. i soooo wish i could slow my brain down! :----------- it may sound a bit fatalistic, but if all faster than light particles (tachyons etc) are all travelling backwards through time, is it naive to assume that they are all created in a catastrophic end of our known universe? i know entropy suggests a slow equilibrium of all energy/matter, but who knows? i wonder what max plank wouldve thought of the opposite end of his wall. ---------- after a bit of extra thought i added this: --------- maybe deceleration due to the massive gravity and mass of an early universe slows these particles down enough to form the basis of the universe as we know it. i couldnt do the maths to speculate on this, but this is the kinda stuff that keeps me up at night, hence me typing this at 5:39 am!
