i may be wrong but i feel people misunderstand the countryman/ redneck. some think of us as lazy and stupid and others think they are country because they wear a camo hat and boots. country is a way one is wired not a fashion nor does it come from where your born. here is my defenition of a true redneck. he loves knows and has an ongoing relationship with God and from that relationship flows his love for his family friends and neighbors, his political views, his discernment, his wisdom, and his work ethic. a real country boy will get up before sunrise and pray for strength because he has a long hard day before him. he will remember to tell his family that he loves them while running out the door with his sandwich to head to a job that he is entirely thankful to have though it breaks his back but not his will because God helps him through the day. at work he is slow to anger and quick to do the dirtiest and hardest work if need be. when the sun beats him down he pauses just long enough to drink a sip of water and then he is back after it. he lets the slackers lag behind.... they will soon be gone... he carries on encouraging those who care enough to keep the pace. at high noon he will share his bit of shade and eat his sandwich thanking God for such a great wife he has. he will spend his half hour thanking God for his wife and children family friends and job. he usually will keep his distance from the main group who is cought up in some meaningless conversation of drunken nights. he keeps far from the proud and slanderers. he keeps his mouth shut and his mind fixed on much more worthy things.he will be the first to jump up and begin his work not letting laziness take over. he is concerned of his superiors success as well as his own so he will not waste a minute. he will finish his day when the job is done and done right. he strives to keep the pace no matter the conditions or time. when the sweat has completely soaken his hat hat he knows he is doing well. he will be the last one at the job asking if anything else needs to be done. when released to go home he will respectivly say good night to everyone no matter their situation, beliefs, convictions, lifestyles or work ethic. he will with hurting elbows, hurting back and sore legs climb into his pick up and call the wife to ask if she needs anything before he comes home. when he gets home he will spend another few hours working around the house or a second job to make ends meet if need be. at the end of it all a real country boy will love one God, love one woman, and work out of thankfullness. he will constantly maitane and labor and wisely plan not for only his own good but for his family and friends. he will not be a dependant but often depended on. he is trustworthy. he is honest. he is selfless. he is at times as strong as a rock or as bold as a soldier but can also be sensitive enough to mend a sparrows wing. he willl stand for right and fight against wrong. he will indeed have wisdom. wisdom from God and thats all he needs. he wishes not to be known as wise and spend countless hours in debates proving it but he has a wisdom strong enough to work 60+ hour weeks and hold a family together. that is much more than winning a useless political debate. so at the end of the day he willl hurt... yes physically hurt indeed. but he has a peace that most others dont. he will end his day in prayer and thankfullness and slip away into a rest well earned. oh ya.... and he bow hunts!!!!!! if its ok by his wife that is..
