i need some expert advise please, i recently lost 3 litters of bulldog puppies, they were all delivered by elective c sections ( and please no negative comments for doing elective sections) this is now 4 litters lost at this vets, i was starting to think i had some fatal bug in my house but i now have a litter of self whelped pups that are doing fantastic. the last 2 sections were done on the same day, i left my girls there at 9am, at around 12ish i recieved a call saying the 1st girl only had 1 pup with bad a cleft and they were starting my other girl, at around 1pm i called to see how they were getting on they said they had given her the aneasthetic and was waiting for her to fall asleep, i got told the same 2pm, at 2.30 when i called i was told the vets had gone on lunch, at 3.30 they said they were still waiting for her to fall asleep. i was finally allowed to collect mum and pups at around 7pm. they told me pups were still quite groggy and they had had them on oxygen but they still allowed me to take them home. it took mum over 24 hours to walk properly and pups failed to suck or even swallow, i called the vets the following morning and aired my concerns and asked to purchase a feeding tube, i was told the problems were probably due to the aneasthetic, when callin again in the afternoon as mum was still very groggy they denied ever saying anything about the aneasthetic. i have now recieved the attached letter stating they will no longer be performing elective c sections, it sates its been sent to all clients, i have asked around people i know and also local facebook groups to see if anybody else has recieved a letter and nobody has, i called them to ask if the letter is correct, i was told it is so i asked y they would no longer offer the service to which the receptionist didnt know, i asked to speak to the practice manager but hes on leave for 6 weeks. another bulldog breeder i know who uses them has also lost a full litter of pups when delievered by elective section. what i want to know is does this seem fishy to anybody else .. how is elective and emergency done differently.. i have the bill for the procedures listing what was adminstered but doesnt say the doseage of aneasthetic, do i have a right to know? i have bred bulldogs for years but changed to this vets as the vet (who specialised in bulldogs) i was using at the previous practice retired, and i had problems with his replacement
