i used to feel lonely. i used to feel insane. People made me feel small for not participating. There was always someone saying some flippant joke to act like something was wrong with me. i would have to fight the urge to knock them out cold because i knew that would make these devils that much more happier and i refused to be someone to please your Uncle Sam. So i abstained. i walked away. i stayed to myself and dreamt of a day where i would find other Natives who felt the way i did THAT WE WERE DONE WRONG and that it is perverted that we could be transformed into a people that celebrate our demise alongside the invaders of our homelands. i seen the dying little coal glowing orange in the ashes and fanned it with the pages of my lyrics and the blessing of the breath within my lungs hoping it will grow back into the roaring flame it deserves to be. Its not much but its the best i can do. i pray that those of you who feel the same didnt feel so alone today.
