i was walking home from the subway around 6 pm when a smiling woman approached me corner Norman and Leonard and asked Are you coming to the library [behind her]? Whaaat? uh, no, should i be? Yes. We are having a talk on the History of Pizza there. and pizza will be served. Now, I dont actually EAT pizza these days, but I thought um, why not? The patter at the beginning made me want to leave, but this odd event, in a small room with older Polish residents and a few young people, turned out well (aside from the pizza). The guy gave a really interesting talk complete with architectural documentation, shipping records, photos and whatnot, on the re-invention of pizza in Brooklyn and the various types of ovens and their construction involved. Turns out the talks are selected based on their subjects standing in the Dewey decimal system. WONKY!
