i will keep adding things at the bottom so keep checking back please and ask around! Hey guys! I took a new job caring for a man in a wheelchair. He took some antibiotics for bronchitis three years ago, and it caused him to get this disease that attacked his muscles.(he told me what it is but I forgot the big long term for it) He spent over two years in hospitals and rehabs and is now home with his four children. He is learning to walk slowly, but he will probably never work again. He cannot do very many thins, as he cannot close his hands to grasp anything, and his muscles arent strong enough. While at their house today I did a lot of much needed cleaning and made them dinner. Now I thought we had it rough and Ive been stressed beyond belief (losing our house, no heat, no food, no hot water, sharing one uninspected car, etc) BUT this family really has it rough. The kids are 4(boy), 10(boy), 14(girl), and 19(boy). The oldest cared for the kids while the dad was in the hospital, but they are really struggling. Even though it seems to me they have it all because they are so close and all of them very unique, their house needs help. They need furniture, clothes, shoes, food.... Anything that would help. They are on their last 200$ of food stamps, and relying on food banks to feed them which we all know, as helpful as they are, do not provide every edible essential. The youngest, Kobalt, wears a 5T, and could use some toys. The 14 year old girl wears a size 1 pants, or 10 in juniors, 10/12 shirts.. The other two kids, I have yet to come across their laundry to check their sizes.... But I have dug out the clothing people have given me ( stuff I set aside for my kids when they grow into it) and for the girl. I am hoping that someone out there can help me help this family. Two kids per bedroom with minimal furniture... They have stuffed disorganized shelves made out of 2x4 and plywood to keep their clothing in. Their house is old, so not many closets. Im hoping to find a couple dressers, some of this portable coat rack type things to hang their clothes on and hangers, maybe some shelves I can hang to make space and make some room for them to live more comfortably in their small home. I would love to find a desk or two for the kids to be able to have their own homework spaces as well. Believe me I was shocked when the kids sat down at 7 to do their homework! Nobody told them to, they just got cracking on it. I will get back with more details, but I just couldnt get this off my mind, I cried on the way home, and Im teary eyed every time I think about it. Please comment here or message me however you can help this family. I dont have the most money but I will try to get where I need to to pick stuff up, I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could find it in your hearts to give this family some hope. UPDATING: 4 YO BOY - 5-6T clothes (he needs a coat!) - car track - toy box/shelves/dresser - learning toys - movies (im giving a dvd player) 10YO boy -dresser (i think we have one coming) - i found size 16 jeans i think are his, so this size or a size up - singlet for wrestling - shoes (i will find size) 14 YO GIRL - junior jeans 10/12... sz 1 - leggings - i found a shirt Mudd brand size 16 (i think thats juniors large?) - shoe (size to come) - singlet and practice clothes (she wrestles too.. and kicks ass!) 19YO boy - size 36 jeans - large t shirts - size 11 shoes - a big pat on the back for stepping up and taking care of his family!! They only have 3 cabinets in the kitchen and 2 drawers. if anyone has any cabinets or book shelves that i can put up to organize their stuff a little better that would also be helpful. they need a broom, mop, cleaning supplies and toiletries, vacuum area rugs would be helpful to keep the house warmer, and cover the old beat up wood floors I would like to take the TV out and replace it with another if possible. they have one in the living room they got on the side of the road.. its a big screen tube tv but takes up a lot of space in the small living room so makes hard for dad to maneuver around it with his chair or walker.. i think i have a tv that will work for them, just need an entertainment center to put it on, and help with some organization.. i will keep adding to this as i find stuff.
