i wouldnt consider myself to be a great person. my 38 years on this planet have produced very few things of note and as i rapidly eat up the distance left until i hit the big four oh, i panic at my lack of direction. im often mean spirited, i dont like kids, i swear a lot and my drinking habits are far less controlled than i like to admit. but every now and then, i kinda feel okay with myself in the world, i kinda feel like something i say is reasonably amusing, that something i write isnt utter garbage. somedays things are just dandy. its on those days that i remember that those small chunks of good stuff that sit inside me, bobbing along on a river of meh, are there because my mother is probably the most amazing person i will ever know. and that everything good that has ever come out of me, i owe to her. so happy birthday mom. youre swell.
