iF THE PIMPS MAKE AN UNANNOUNCED VIST TO YOUR HOME WHEN ON THE SICK, RAM THIS UNDER THEIR SNOUT Mr xxxx xxxxx Xxxx Delivery office manager (Royal Mail) 08/08/2014 Ref: Unannounced Visit at my Residential Address by the Business Dear Sir Please treat this letter as an informal complaint as to the unannounced visit to my home by the Business. On the XX/08/2014 at approximately xx.xx hours you’re good self-knocked on my door. This visit was made with no prior appointment or request and was unsettling in the way the visit was conducted. As you are aware I have been excused all work place duties due to a medical condition I am currently afflicted with. As part of the National attendance agreement, any employee excused duties in excess of 14 days or more is referred to the Occupational Health Service Provider. As well as this referral it is expected an employee has a meeting with a manager at his/her place of employment within 28 days of first absence. That is providing the employee is capable, if not then alternative arrangements can be made such as a home visit by prior appointment. The attendance agreement 2013 stipulates that the employee and manager should seek to agree an appropriate time and date for reviewing all but short absences. My opinion on that statement is that any meeting between employee and employer is pre-arranged. The only exception to this policy will be if the employee has not contacted his manager as to his absence. The business will then be justified in any unannounced visit as to duty of care. In my case my illness has been fully documented with medical certificates and regular telephone contact. Can the business please state under what statutory authority/agreement it has in coming to my residential address unannounced and question me as to the validity of my illness?. My final point is with reference representatives from the business turning up at my home to cross examine me as to the validity of my illness without prior notification. In the case of Scottish Courage Ltd v Guthrie. The employer cannot just decide any absence is not genuine without any specific evidence to that effect, and merely because the employer disagrees with the employees General Practitioner as to when the employee will be fit to return to work. In conclusion I feel I have not been given dignity and respect as to this matter as an employee by the employer. The business has acted in an Ultra Vires capacity outside the attendance procedure 2013. Respectfully
