if you open your HEART your MIND will follow: I see this man every morning when I drive my kids to school. hes probably around 80 and rides his scooter on the streets with his oxygen tank on the back and a cigarette in his mouth. Ive seen cars drive by and yell at him for blocking the road and I too am guilty of a smart@** remark to which he simply gave me the finger... like most people I saw this crazy old man who I assumed couldnt walk and had respiratory problems but yet still smoked. he always looked grumpy and had a scowl on his face. this morning I decided to say something. I said GOOD MORNING expecting his reply to be a harsh one. but he smiled and said THANK YOU In an instant the story id created in my mind of who he was changed. this gentleman had lived a long life and had probably seen the world change so much. hed certainly paid his dues in the 8 decades hed lived thus far. now in the late years of his life his freedom and joys were in the mobility his electric cart gave him. and the satisfaction his morning smoke brought. I APOLOGIZE TO THE WORLD FOR IVE LIVED TOO MUCH OF MY LIFE SEEING THINGS THE WRONG WAY. I opened up my heart and my mind followed.
