ift.tt/eA8V8J Im a 27/m and the girl is 26. I just moved to a new area, and started attending a large church. My sister was browsing the churchs website, and noticed that her old college roommate worked at the church. Coincidently, when my sister was in college (several years ago) she was showing me pictures of her friends, and I had noticed this girl. I noticed because she was beautiful. I mentioned she was pretty, and my sister said she had shown pictures of me to her friends, and this girl had called me hot. Anyway, she texted the girl and the girl texted back that she wanted to meet me and jokingly said she would stalk me on Facebook. I messaged her just to say hi and she sent me a friend request a few days later. She also asked me where I sat, and I told her. That Sunday she walked past where I was, and waved (it was a pretty bashful wave). After service I left since I didnt want to seem creepy waiting around for her. She actually FB messaged me asking where I was when I was at church (I got the notification on my phone) but I had left my phone in the car. We ended up chatting on FB for about an hour or so (she initiated). She seemed pretty engaged in the conversation, asking about my work and things like that. There was also teasing and bantering back and forth between us. She used a lot of emoticons and exclamation marks, and just seemed generally flirty while messaging. We talked again on Tuesday (I initiated) and it was the same deal: flirty conversations and talking about silly stuff like zombies, knife fights, and Dragon Ball Z (she loves DBZ). Also, she made a mock audition video for the Bachleor tv show (she enjoys, and is very good at, making movies and videos. She was actually interviewed by several radio stations around here and got on the news.) She told me she didnt want to get on the show, but just wanted to do something fun. Then she said that the guy whos going to be on the show, Farmer Chris or some crap, wasnt horrible looking but had no lips, and that she really felt like she needed a man with lips for kissing purposes (I was like, checking out my lips in the reflective side of a CD. They are rather luscious.) The following Sunday she came down to my seat and sat in the aisle talking to me, just asking how my week had been and all that. Heres an interesting excerpt from our conversation: Her: So you come here alone or... Me: Yeah, I live alone, so I come alone. (A stupid response on my part, I know. Also, I know for a fact that she knows I come alone, since the week before she had told me to quit looking so new and lonely.) Her: Oh yeah. Im alone too. Thats how its always been for me. Turns out shes never had a boyfriend. Im cool with that, since Ive never had a girlfriend. The life of religious conviction can be a lonely one. People started coming down the aisle so she got up and very awkwardly and adorably climbed over the row of seats I was sitting in and sat down. Heres the thing: she left the seat next to mine empty and sat down in the one next to it, leaving a seat between us. I noticed this, and was wondering what it could mean in light of everything else. Is she attracted to me and trying to avoid showing it, or does she not want to give me any ideas? I wonder if she would have done the same with any other person. We talked for a few seconds before she realized she had been neglecting her duties (she was on the clock, after all) and dismissed herself. I waited for her after service and she came around and introduced me to one of her friends (a dude). As we were talking, I took note of her body language. She was angled slightly toward me. I held my body in a similar fashion. As we were chatting, both her and I would make eye contact for a few seconds, then look around the room at random stuff. I noticed she held her arms in front of her, holding on to her phone (which she was fiddling with; snapping and unsnapping the button on the cover.) She seemed really bashful. As I was leaving, she waved bye to me, but it wasnt a normal wave. She held her palm facing her, and rotated it back and forth like an auger or something. I asked her what that was (mimicking the motion myself) and she seemed embarrassed that she had done that, and said, Uh, I dunno. Waving to myself, I guess? I dunno. I went a week without messaging her since I wanted to see if she would initiate contact. She didnt. This last Sunday she was operating one of the cameras, and was unable to talk to me before church. I had something I needed to do, so I left without talking to her. When I got home, I messaged her this: Hey. Sorry I missed you at church today. I had something that I needed to take care of after service. Anyway, next week Ill wait around afterwards so we can talk, if you want. Catch you later! She has seen that message, been pretty active on FB, and still hasnt responded. Now Im going crazy because I have a pretty strong crush on this girl and I dont know whats going on in her head. Halp! tl;dr Girl is giving mixed signals. What is my course of action?
