im generally not much of a march-er. i boycott. i speak out. i use my words to fire myself up. sometimes they spread and inspire folk. back in college i marched some. on several occasions. its not that i dont believe in marches. my people have marched for decades. movements are often sparked and sustained by marches. these things i know. still, im not much of a march-er. but today was different. i had no excuses. i did have to work. but not before i marched. it was cold and i really enjoy warmth. i really REALLY love justice though. and equality. and freedom. and love. (who doesnt love love?) ...and life. i enjoy life. so today i marched. because for far too long we have ALL sat back, stayed warm and comfortable, and remained silent in this racist country that teaches, spreads and incites its dangerous venom across the world. today i marched because i still enjoy life. and i want it to be livable and enjoyable for every brown person whose feet touch this ground. because ALL life is sacred and beautiful. and because i felt like today my voice might actually help push this message out a little louder, and help make the difference i believe is BEING seen across the world. i was blessed with a gift and God be damned if I dont use it. #todayimarched #millionsmarchnyc #blacklivesmatter #mantra #power
