im going to be experimenting with turboing a na engine in the next - TopicsExpress

im going to be experimenting with turboing a na engine in the next month or so. plans are to get rid of pre existing weaknesses in the na block. I will be replacing na wrist pins with tt ones, getting new piston rings, new rod bearings, arp headstuds posibly main studs as well, 120k kit, and lastly cometic headgaskets. my question is since the block will be decked the stock headgasket thickness will not work(.045), i can go up to the .051 but that would put me at basically the same 10.5.1 comp ratio. i want to slightly lower my compression, not down to tt specs, however slightly lower then the stock comp to make it a little bit safer for boost. lastly i havent decided which route yet, but i will either be doing a tt setup on it with upgraded turbos, 740cc injectors and other supporting mods. or doing a single turbo setup placing the turbo in the stock ac compressor area. power goals are 450-500 on pump(93) and close to 600 on e85. this is mostly for experimentation since i will have another engine at my disposal in case this one goes boom lol. hopefully not but we will see. anyways what would you guys recommend for head gasket thickness to slightly lower my comp ratio while still keeping a high compression.
