(1) with the word trinity in it; (2) where the term persons (plural) was ever used to describe God or the Godhead; OR (3) where anyone was ever baptized with the TITLES Father, Son and Holy Ghost pronounced over them. (These titles are quoted by virtually every religious denomination today among BOTH Catholic and Protestants, regardless of whether they baptize by sprinkling or by immersion). There was a VERY important reason why NONE of the foot print followers of our Lord and Savior, and original New Testament leaders ever repeated these words, from the Great Commission (of Matthew 28:19) at any of their baptismal services... (OR any where else for that matter) ... in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Granted, Jesus most often had a very unusual manner of speaking and teaching. And, in Matthew 28:19 He does, in fact refer to ... the NAME (singular) of the Father, AND of the Son. AND of the Holy Ghost. And, it does NOT mean “by the authority of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” as some insist in their futile efforts to prop up a man-made “theory” that evolved hundreds of years AFTER the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of our Lord and Savior AND the passing of His “foot print followers” and “original” New Testament leaders. Very simply put, the foot print followers and original New Testament leaders understood who Jesus really is, AND werent being disobedient when they invoked the name “Jesus”, as some imply, and all but insist ... saying something like “Who you going to obey, Jesus ... or someone else?” without realize just how dumb that really is to assert those referred to as “someone else” DISOBEYED and those who came along centuries later finally figured it out, and got it right! WOW! What arrogance and unbridled ignorance! At any rate, those they refer to as “someone else” were simply following instructions ... Colossians 3:17 (KJV) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Acts 3:6 (KJV) Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Acts 16:18 (KJV) And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. Acts Chapter 2 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts Chapter 8 14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Acts Chapter 10 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Acts Chapter 19 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto Johns baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And, my friend, this is why it is sooooo very important to get out of the books, commentaries, and later writings, and get back into the Bible ... allowing the preponderance of Scriptural evidence on this, and any other subject, to speak for itself. And, yep! You can quote me on all of this. God bless! ~Bobby PS: I know some of you may think of me as one who likes to cause trouble, or to see just what all I can keep stirred up. But, NOTHING could be further from the truth! I absolutely HATE controversy, and would prefer to hurt myself than to cause someone else to be hurt. And, that’s God’s honest truth. But, unless or until the Good Lord lets up on me a little bit I just gotta do what His Spirit keeps nudging me to do. ‘Cause evidently SOMEBODY out there on FB and/or around here in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi (or both) is longing for a closer walk, a more spiritual awareness ... more of what God has for them, instead of the status quo, same old same old, dull, mundane and boring mediocrity of just going through the motions, but never really reaching the level of spirituality, for which their soul longs. I just can’t help but believe it’s more than just me who God has been dealing with rather heavily for quite some time, and moving upon them with the power of the Holy Spirit and with Heavenly visits, all hours of the day and night, while it seems like the Lord just keeps saying over and over ..., “Come on out into the deeper “spiritual” waters. Put down the books. Get out of the commentaries and later writings. Lay aside your preconceived ideas, opinions, theories and traditions. And, learn of Me. DILIGENTLY study My Word ... ‘cause that’s where you will find Me waiting on you with outstretched arms.” My friend, I dont make a dime ... nor do I even try to ... for doing what God has called me to do. It is a calling. Fire shut up in my bones. Thats the only way I know how to even begin to describe it. I am NOT trying to promote ANY religious organization or denomination. That is NOT what God called me to do.
