is it really a necessary skill, being alone? I mean, I can be in public alone, beautifully, running or biking or cafe-sitting or even going out to eat. I can stand solitary at the kitchen sink lost in reverie. Im not the tiniest bit afraid of bad guys or noises or bogeymen. but put me in my house at, say, 9:45 p.m., my kids unexpectedly staying another night with their dad... and I reallyreallyreally want to not do this.
