is sorry that I havent updated anyone in a few days..things have just been very hectic. Shawn went into surgery Friday night. He has a very serious flesh eating bacteria called necrotizing fasciitis. They cut him open from the beginning of his middle toe down to past his ankle..its about a football sized cut. They drained and cleaned it up, but the bacteria has ate away all of his skin and skin tissue on his foot. They are taking him back in for surgery today to redrain and to make sure they got all of the bacteria and infection out. The next step after this surgery will be going back in and taking skin from another part of his body to skin graph onto his foot. He has a very long road of recovery ahead of him, and at this point we have no idea how long hell be in the hospital. This is a very serious bacteria, and not only are we extremely lucky that he still has his foot and leg, we are even more lucky that he is still here with us. As much as it pains me to even type this and read it...this bacteria has a 75% death rate. I cant explain how thankful I am everytime I look over at him, hear him, touch him, and smell him. This has all shown me the true workings and miracles of both God and prayer. Shawn has felt so much better since this first surgery. He finally has color back to his face and hes had no more fevers. Right after he got out of surgery Friday..I ended up having to be sent to the ER myself due to blurred vision and just all around feeling not good. I am 2 cm and 50 percent effaced and very certain that Im in the beginning stages of bringing Molly into the world. Reality is that Shawn will physically miss the birth, and although its paining us both, were both trying to view the good that we are blessed to have. I dont know or understand why all of this is happening, but regardless...I have my husband, I have my kids, the help of my family, Molly is okay, and no matter what Im going to be okay as well and we will all make it through this hard time stronger and more bonded then ever. I have witnessed first hand the power of prayer and I cant put into words how thankful I am for every single prayer that all of you have lifted up. I ask that we please remain in your prayers and thoughts, between that and the love and support of our friends and family we will get through this. Thank you so much everyone...Ill try my best to keep everyone as updated as I can.
