it has just taken me 45 minutes and 4 phone calls to make a simple claim for child tax credit of £900! phoned up to make the claim, question, have you filled in the form on-line? no, so have to hang up and fill in the form on line, which only tells you if we are eligible or not. then have to phone again, automated voice cant understand my voice on the mobile, then my NI number didnt match so have to ring off, find it, check it and phone again, but then mobile loses signal, so call on land-line. again automated voice asks me security questions, which I pass, she passes me onto a REAL LIVE PERSON who asks me the same security questions (Name, DOB, NI number, address) I have just answered ALL OVER AGAIN!!! finally I pass the test and the nonchalant lady says do you qualify, yes (hurrah!) ok well send you out a pack which will take up to 2 weeks to get to you(?) then Ill have to go through all the questions I have just answered again, fill it in, send it back and theyll deal with it. however for them to deal with this claim could take them up to 3 weeks and I am not to contact them during this time. Honestly I am beginning to wonder if it is worth it.
