join us for the Grand Opening of New Bedfords Nature Explore Playground at Rivers End Park on River Rd. on Oct 4, 10 am - 2pm. Nature Explore Classrooms: Putting in Some Personality Nature Explore Outdoor Classrooms are like people: all share common features, yet each has a distinctive spirit and personality. The Creston National Fish Hatchery in Kalispell, Montana, is no exception. Their outdoor classroom’s design reflects the purpose and personality of the site. This venue might seem unlikely for a Certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom. Yet the classroom perfectly aligns with the conservation work of the hatchery. Mark Maskill, Creston’s Director, believes that the individual personalities of the many Nature Explore Classrooms nationwide are what give strength to the movement. “If they were all the same,” he says, “outdoor classrooms would just be cookie-cutter spaces.” He sees Creston’s outdoor classroom as “nurturing the conservationist of tomorrow.” Nature Explore Outdoor Classrooms are having a wonderful impact on children, and they are made possible with your support. See how these classrooms are changing lives at natureexplore.org.
