As he began traveling throughout South America as a young medical student he witnessed poverty, hunger and a lot of sick people whom he decided to help. He blamed the US and Capitalism, because of all of those corrupt Governments which were imposed or where helped by non other than the US CIA. (There is no way around it, now we all know that those were corrupt Governments to say the least) He was a socialist helping people. He met Castro and helped him to overthrow Baptista and his people. It was impossible for him to know that a few years later Castro would become a communist dictator. Actually, when they finally got to overthrow Baptista government, Castro called for elections, but he didnt want to be a candidate at the beginning. Maybe he didnt say those words, but it is a fact that he did what he did just so he could help people, not because of money, power or fame... just ideals. https://youtube/watch?v=y5X0L_SPgoE
