just a tiny extract from the first chapter to whet your reading appetite:- When the last finger was licked, the last lip smacked, the contest would turn to a verbal sparring about who was the champion on the day. In proving their points, some would pull up their tattered clothing, push their rash-infested tummys and point to how big the tummy was and how this proved that they had beaten everyone else at the game of downing the most samp. The banter would be an exact opposite of what was a few minutes before looking like an ugly fight over food. Boys were boys and it was expected conduct for them to behave in that fashion.
