just one of the new Trip advisor comments well done team thanks for your continued great service!!!!!!!Spur of the moment fun” Reviewed 21 April 2014 It was the last day of our stay in Godolphin Cross and was the only day that we had no plans for. Come lunchtime we were getting itchy feet and started to scour TripAdvisor for something to do. Having been on a Segway experience several years ago we werent too sure about doing it again, you know, been there, done that. Anyway, it was £30 each, about 25 mins away and an easy option really. So I gave them a call and they were open! It was Good Friday, and they could fit us in in about 40 mins. The lady on the telephone was very friendly, making that all too important first impression really count. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very lady who answered the phone who was charming, we paid the fee and waited for the group of about 8 people before us to finish. It was a young lad named Paul who was to be our guide. A little inexperienced in his public speaking if you like but he knew his stuff and was a pleasant chap, even if he, and my wife for that matter did find it amusing when I took a tumble later on. Fortunately for us we were the only two people in the group for our 90 min slot. We had plenty of fun, it really is like riding a bike, being an unusual concept we picked up pretty much where we left off several years ago and were very soon whizzing around like pros (!). The first part of the experience is on on-road Segways, just to get you used to the way they are ridden on a smooth surface. you then move onto off-road versions, no faster than the on-road but with bigger, bouncier, knobbly tyres. To be honest the site doesnt look like it has much in the way of off-road trails but then it has just about enough for a Segway to handle, it is only an expensive computer on two wheels after all. Being just the two of us we were slightly spoilt and had loads of head to head racing and mucking about, my dear wife even managed to get onto the Top Gear style fastest lap board (Despite being slower than me but it was the ladies board she managed to get onto). It was good fun, good value for money for the two of us and everybody there was very friendly too. I would and have recommend this to other couples and would go back too. Goonhilly satellite station is no longer open as a tourist destination but the Segway tours are in its grounds. The road signs for Goonhilly seem to be a bit sporadic now but with a bit of common sense it isnt hard to find, head for the massive satellite dish.
