just watched 13 minutes of the disgrace of gijon. world cup 82, ger vs austria (1:0). if you watch the vid...you may think the disgrace was all about their ridiculous shorts....but, no, this agreement not to play any longer after germany scored in the 10th min between the teams is THE reason we see teams in the same group all play their 3rd group game at the same time now. this result/score allowed austria and germany to both advance and kept algeria out (who played earlier in the day...their pts/goal diff was therefore known). um, the dead giveaway here seems to be the germans taking the ball all the way to the penalty box and then 6 passes later, theyve sent it back to their goalkeeper without an attempt on goal....duh. algeria has not forgotten. tomorrow is going to be veerrrrry in-te-res-ting.
