kk - I really tried not to comment on this - but....................u know me !! Now, I love football w/all my being, but the news said Indys superbowl committee is in New York to get more ideas on hosting a superbowl for their bid. I dont think NY is where they need to be getting ideas - plenty of them rite here in the city !!! Indy hosted an excellent superbowl when we had the chance but since then, our crime rate has increased in the downtown area n especially in the Circle Ctr Mall - we have more homeless (who will no doubt be panhandling so they can eat) - our parking fees have become outrageous downtown - we dont have enuff police personnel to handle a superbowl crowd PLUS the crime rate at the same time. Crime has even increased in the surrounding areas/malls like in Castleton/Fishers/Greenwood - all those places where visitors would most likely visit and stay at hotels/motels/inns. The committe had the hosting part down already - no need to go to NY - need to stay here and make our city safer for those who will visit !! (course - this is just my opinion - but if I were an outsider - Id surely have to consider all the above before I spend thousands of dollars for the trip and the game !)
