The holiday is the day to celebrate geeks who are into video games, comic books, tech, or sci fi. Embrace Your Geekness Day commemorates that there is a little bit of geekiness in us all. You dont have to be a computer whiz or video game master to celebrate, though. Just grab your smart phone, scientific calculator or newest electronic device and resolve to teach yourself one new function. Perhaps you can learn to calculate a logarithm or program a pivot table. Did you know: Shawn Fanning, inventor of Napster and father of the digital music revolution, named his life-changing invention after his nappy hairstyle. Ray Tomlinson, the inventor of email, used the @ symbol to match computer to user in his own office building. If you are asking yourself if you are, indeed, a geek, the answer is most likely no. Most geeks know what they are and embrace it every day of the year.
