...last night in campus and as a member of Gymkhana Union Body, NIT Silchar.. it has been a true honor working for da college.. experience of a lifetime.. complete transformation of me as a person.. I thank everyone who supported me throughout and made it possible for me to be a part of this tremendous venture.. Some dreams which still remain unfulfilled.. 1. An Inter-NIT Cultural Meet among NITs of Eastern India and subsequent extrapolation of the idea to a National level. 2. Establishment of a Campus FM Radio channel of NIT Silchar. (original idea of Samujjal Das da) 3. Establishment of Heritage Club under SPIC MACAY to conduct related events frequently in the campus. 4. Proper rooms for music (with acoustic walls) and dance (with mirrored walls). Detailed budget of Inter-NIT meet and Spicmacay programme has been prepared and will be handed over to new Gymkhana. Regarding Campus Radio there are some obstacles right now, but will be cleared with time hopefully. Samujjal Da can be of immense help in this regard. Music and dance rooms can be arranged after completion of the new Auditorium. Lastly, a fully furnished Gymkhana office needs to be established in the allotted room. With this, I wish the new Gymkhana a very successful year ahead and hope that they will work on these aspects as found suitable and will be honest and sincere in the discharge of their duties towards the best interests of this institute.
