last nights (Sept 8) mtg recap: tuttle & mohr both absent last night...vanderklok ran the show...paving of DPW on 28th ave. across from cemetery passed for more than $36,000...1st public comments consisted of: improve/add on to library, improve/rebuild sr. center., traffic by Meijer in morning is horrific need additional south lane for right turn at light, 8th ave. park needs improvements, rosewood park needs water playground like maplewood park has, board meetings should include two way communicating with public during public comments, 19 million dollar bond issue was too big, we need more sidewalks specifically near hagar park, public should be involved in next big building project, for sale signs should be put up at 200 Baldwin & 200 Chicago drive. then $285,000 was removed from ice arena budget because grand valley is not going to have their own locker room, budget passed. 2nd public comments consisted of: Ice arena breaks even, grand valley is in Allendale twp not gtwp, why do they only pay $200 hr for ice time and nothing else?, would they like to buy arena from gtwp?, veterans memorial at 200 Baldwin is good idea either move on it or give money back., need customer service survey for library staff and more training on how to interact with residents, restrooms & bike/walking trails need to be moved on yet this year, online park survey was a farce since it would take yes & no replies together & multiple entries were allowed from same computer, and will there be a fall leaf/waste clean up like the twp did years ago?
