HEEBIE....DAM....JEEBIES!!! AAARGH!!! • I live on a nature preserve ~ or might as well be. I love the serenity and >some< of the wildlife! So I decide, in my infinite wisdom, today would be a good day to go sweep down the spider webs outside around my front and back doors (spiders have come out in droves this year...blech!). Then I thought, let me go ahead and put the glass inserts back into the stormdoors, okay? Next, I decide...well, since Im out here...lemme pull a few weeds. They been growin like crazy this year, too! Grrr...must be that dam winter we had, saturatin the ground like whut! My good buddy, John who owns Speed Exterminating (plug...;) ) came over a month ago, to check my crawl spaces for critters and stuff. When we were in the garage, I asked him WTH those droppings near the door were? He said...probably chipmunks ~ then he put down these industrial-strength-fly-paper-like sheets. Then he looked at me and said...Now are you going to be okay with removing them? Sure!...no problem! Yeah, right. That night, around 10:30pm I had to go out to my car and I heard this frantic tap dancin....lil feet goin tap tap tap! I tiptoed over towards the door...and there were two small mice stuck on this piece of paper...tryin desperately to get away. I backed wayyyy up and said maybe Ill check tomorrow. Well, the next day they had disappeared! Yikes! But at least, I didnt have to deal with them... And I thought, this paper aint bout nuttin...cant even catch a coupla tiny field mice....mmm-kay? So, Im beeboppin back and forth, just-a sweepin and carryin on...and I go sashayin into the garage. There was the biggest DEAD CHIPMUNK Ive ever seen! HELP!!!!!!! My neighbors were prolly wonderin...What is she screamin about? • After pulling myself together, I got a long-handled dustpan and metal rake...and said Lord, please, help me.... • Ive watched enough forensic shows on TV to know the estimated time of death was...fresh! AAAARGH!!! Anyway....scooped his azz up into this biodegradable bag, that had the weeds in it, tied a knot in that suckah and then slung him over into the ravine!!! Well, guess the dam Coyotes gotta eat, too! As for me....I will not be having dinner until wayyyy later tonight! :O This whole time, Maxx is goin...Whats up, Mom? Im not a cat person, but maybe its time for a lil kitty.... :O :D :O
