let us also go, that we may die with him (Jn 11:16) there are many of us who are ready to face trials and persecution for the love of jesus, but also many who want to follow Christ on our own terms. No suffering or sacrifice, no living out the Word Og God if it makes me uncomfortable or puts me in trouble. i wont get involved in issues or social justice. corruption or other concerns that might rock my boat. I will go for mass, say my prayers, read my bible and tithe. I am a Christian arent i? Right, a lukewarm and standing-on-the-fence one! Thomas - often referred to as the doubting Thomas because he questioned Jesus resurrection - showed love and courage in being ready to die for Jesus. Going to Jerusalem at this point was dangerous, and the Disciples tried to talk Jesus out of it. However, when all objections failed, they were willing to go with Jesus and to even perish with Him. They probably did not understand the deeper reason why Jesus had to die. Yet they remained loyal to Him. There are dangers in doing Gods work and living according to His Word.The price to pay may be high. In todays World are there any takers? FRUIT: I may not be called to die physically. But surely i must die to my pride, greed, selfishness, unforgiveness and fear and to my own idea of being a Christian. Am i prepared to ?
