letter sent to all Pensions coalition members this am ... Please NOTE SECOND TO LAST PARAGRAPH...THIS IS A VERY LARGE GROUP OF VOTERS FROM AROUND THE PROVINCE. My word is my Contract (David Alward), the Shared Risk Plan will be voluntary (Blaine Higgs) and how many other deceitful and undemocratic measures has this Government used. We have seen it all it seems. The Alward Government - the open and transparent Government - has invoked a measure to limit debate and will move Bill 11 to 3rd reading this coming Wednesday, after which the Bill will come into affect. This undemocratic measure has never been used in any Legislature in our parliamentary system. A sad, sad day is approaching - our Black Wednesday – so please wear black. There are only 2 days left for Question Period and Ministerial statements in the House. Lets fill the Gallery of the Legislature - the House of the People and show the Alward Government that we are not taking this lying down. This is a broken contract! Our membership told us to use all political pressure tactics possible and if all else fails, to proceed with appropriate court action. Tuesday Dec 3, 2013 - question period will begin at approx 1:30 and will last the usual 30 minutes. We recommend staying a bit after to hear any MLA statements that will express the disgust and displeasure of the actions of this undemocratic Government. Wednesday Dec 4, 2013 - question period will begin at approx 10:30 and will last for 30 minutes and then they will debate motion 11 for no longer than 2 hours as this is the time limit. Depending on when question period starts, please plan to stay until lunch which will be at 12:30 pm. The House comes back at 2 pm and will resume debate on motion 11 if necessary. We would suggest you be there from 10:30 to 12:30 and then see what happens and whether there is a need to come back after lunch. Since there are only two days remaining in the Legislature for Bill 11, we need to show our support for the Liberals who have been debating and seeking clear and succinct answers from the Alward Government. The Coalition has requested Hansard transcripts for all and any statements by the MLAs on Bill 11. We are watching their words and will not forget come September 2014.
