little recap of our night at the Dells. Little bit of everything, sun, hot, rain, great friends, nearly 2 trophies. Valve cover gasket caused some early practice drama, cant seem to catch a break lately. After Bob and Travis repaired that issue, we started last in the heat and quickly had to return to the pits for a missing hood pin. Wasnt even sure if the race started but went after them anyway and brought home a heat race win. Started last in the main and chased Ron Wilson for what seem like an eternity for the win and made a bold attempt to pass coming out of 4. Wasnt sure who won, but was told to come to Victory Lane on the frontstretch. The announcer congratulated us on the dramatic win, I did an interview and dedicated the win to my buddy Billy Hoffman, and was told to go to Victory Circle up by the fans. Pulled in there and a bunch of kids asked why I was there. I said I won and they said I finished second. After the confusion subsided, I high-fived all those kids who said it was a great race and made room for my buddy Ron Wilson who was the real winner. Had a great time with my crew, friends and my wife, who was finally able to join us. Clean hard racing, Bob gave me a great chassis to work with, and the boys worked their butts off. Thanks to all. Another cherished memory.
