The first is because the Bible teaches that no one seeks after God (see Romans 3:11). We have as much desire to think about the God reveled in scripture as a criminal has of thinking about the police. The Bible says of the ungodly, God is not in their thoughts (Psalm 10:4). We love the darkness and hate the light. The only reason we have come to the Savior, is because God in His kindness drew us to Himself and rescued us from death. The second reason is that their “I’m not going to think about it” is probably a sign that your words got through. This is because what we say about sin isnt pleasant to their sin-loving mind, and so they want to keep it out of their mind. So pray that God opens the eyes of their understanding so that they can see their terrible danger.
