love, prayers to the Little Christmas Angel...may she rest until she is able to face what is to come...healing....love, prayers for the community of Paul Band first nation, as a Trauma Expert, I know this community is in for a long haul towards healing from this horrific crime. and last but not least love and prayers to the family of the offender who will live the consequences of knowing their family member, their relative did the harm...as for the offender...there is an old saying what goes around comes around...that is natural consequence....we as a people must set the limit of what is acceptable and what is unacceptable in our communities...our reaction to this will be watched by the world...and what message do we as a people want to send...I for one want to tell the world, I am sickened by this horrific crime and I cannot justify it any shape or form...the brutality of damage done to this baby girl, 6 years old, would have been cause for death by the community...and it would have been done immediately ...it was that unacceptable in communities of the original people to harm a Gift given to us by Creator.....harming a child, harming Elders were considered the most unacceptable behaviours ...and to do so most often resulted in death...not a healing circle.
