Jesus. high fives. halloween candy. homemade cards. oceans. nature. today. today was filled with most of the above. As 10:30am rolled around - a family gathered up furniture, groceries, high fives, smiles for miles, Jesus and extra love and jammed packed it all into 2 pickup trucks. Natalie was waiting in her sweet little apartment all day. Wondering. Calling. Texting. Assuming. Thinking. Watching time pass as the excitement and anxiety of the unknown overtook her being. She knew someone was coming. She knew with stuff... but that could literally mean ANYTHING. Her phone rang at 12:59pm. Letting her know a gang of people were here to meet her. and as she came downstairs. outside the gate. She saw the pickup trucks. She saw the pieces of wood. Pieces of metal. Things that made up what looked like furniture.. but with her sweet old eyes, all she could do was smile and weep. We unloaded tables. Chairs. Bedding. Linens. Art. Goodies. AND of course all our free gifts. As we made our way up and down the stairs and in and out of the rooms and trucks - it was all there. She stood in the kitchen with Jacob - the 14 year old Rock Youth kiddo who came to help - as they unpacked and loaded her cabinets with food and cooking ware. In her room, door closed, Shaun and a volunteer helped set up her bed. Make it with fresh sheets. new pillows. Placed the dressers in their spots and the lamp where it was best useful... And when they finished, and Natalie walked into her room - and she knew. Jesus was given to her. Not because she had things. Not because she has a room. But because she knew, He hears her. He sees her. And He sent her the ONE thing she wanted most - family. We got to eat her first meal on her new table, place her things in her desired places, and share stories of our journey with Him. Natalie. you are treasured. loved. chosen. and adored. you are a saint. beaut. daughter of the Most High. He sees you.
