me getting my home antibiotics through my picc line. the iv was inserted into a vein in my arm and goes just above my heart to a vein called the superior vena cava. just started the treatment a few days ago, twice a day, lasts about and hour and a half each dose for 6wks. the docs think i may have osteomylitis so we are using vancomycin to try and kill this thing off. we want to save my bone, joint, etc and definately do not want to take the hardware out of my shoulder. i was sooo happy to finally get it fixed. it was my fault it got broke. falling off a balcony backwards when i was messed up in the day. i was lucky i lived. i just cant wait till this pain in the butt is over. :(
