#must_read: Liverpool fans should just shut up & stop mourning_____ Jamie Carragher: Liverpool also Park the Bus! Says supporters cant complain about Jose Mourinhos tactics because Liverpool have done the same thing for years. Finally, an undeluded legendary Scouser to the historians rescue? That retired Liverpool and Three Lions stalwart Jamie Carragher is redder than one Brendan Rodgers is and could ever hope to be, is a fact no one can make bones about; that the Merseyside-born pundit and columnist is in a better position to know The Reds much-touted history and make any sort of vainglorious pontifications and/or conclusions is incontestable. Furthermore, although it is trite—from experience—that a large population of the red Scousers lot are not only naturally a classless community of football thugs, bullies, dunces and hooligans, but also have a mishmash of delusions of grandeur, mob-violence data and disposition ingrained in their DNA. So, it was never really a surprise that the Northern Irishman and former Chelsea youth team coach caught the idiosyncratic Scouser delusion bug once the jealous historians decided that King Dalglish wasnt good enough to lead their joke of a club to the dizzying heights Chelsea were operating from in this 21st century, as he lost all the sporty virtues, graces, dignity and sense of fair play he learned whilst at Chelsea and Swansea. What was surprising though, was his cheap and laughable post-match rant at a team and its manager who just defeated his own inept setup 2-0 on their on turf, which revealed a distinct lack of class, finesse and sportsmanship that is only synonymous with and symbolic of Liverpool Football Club. Although Rodgers halfwitted comments (not worth a citation here) was as nonsensical as they come, Carraghers has shamed the Irishman and the Kop even further by effectively telling them to shut up as they dont have anything to complain about, not least the tactics the ever dynamic Mourinho employed in clipping his former apprentices little fancy wings. To keep the destiny of the Premier League in his hands, the discerning knew all the Liverpool manager needed to do, with only two games remaining, was get a draw and not go gung-ho at a Chelsea team that had him beat 2-1 in the earlier fixture; but gung-ho with a ridiculously high defensive line Liverpool went as Rodgers chicken finally came home to roost. In highlighting Rodgers tactical naivety about parking buses, Carragher educated: Ive done it playing for Liverpool, he told Monday Night Football. I remember going to Barcelona in 2001 in the UEFA Cup and we got a 0-0. We did exactly the same as what Chelsea did last weekend, we went there for our clean sheet. Johan Cruyff said after the game we were a disgrace to football. Lets not forget that in the seventies and eighties when Liverpool went away theyd go there and do a job to try and get a 0-0. At times theyd play it back to Ray Clemence and slow the game down. Continuing, the Liverpool legend who has over 500 league caps for the Scousers revealed: I remember with Rafa Benitez playing against Chelsea, we played them at their own game. We slowed the game down, played direct football, never got caught on the counter-attack and never risked playing a ball into Stevie (Gerrard) or Xabi Alonso, as they had Duff, Robben and Drogba for the counter-attack. There was frustration after the game. We heard Liverpool fans afterwards on radio phone-ins and whatever, but youve got to not be complaining so much about Chelsea and think you may come up against this again - how are we going to go about it and try to get the result? You cant complain and say we dont play like that. Weve done it before and been successful at it. You cant complain. Lots of teams have done it, weve done it, so get on with it and try to find a way to fix it. Now I hope Crystal Palace and Newcastle take Carraghers clue. Enough said then.
